I am so thrilled to finally share a peek at this wonderful couple’s wedding day. Surrounded by their loved ones Allyson and Michael tied the knot at St. Phillip’s Catholic Church in Battle Creek, MI. I loved that there was so much history within the family at St. Phillips as many of their family members were alumni of the school and attendants of the parish itself. I must say, it was one of the most beautiful churches I have had the pleasure of photographing a wedding inside of.
Thank you Allyson and Michael for your kindness and trust, it means so much to be included on such a special day and to capture a couples wedding story.
This beautiful clutch was handmade from Allyson’s mother’s bridal gown and her father’s wedding tie. The earrings were also her mother’s from her wedding day.
I see this picture and I think of the flooded emotions that a couple faces on their wedding day. The majority of our couples option to share an intimate first look prior to their wedding ceremony. This for many reasons is a wonderful choice. Allyson and Michael instead decided to keep it traditional. I suggested that maybe they share an intimate moment and read one another a little love note before the ceremony. Looking at Allyson’s face, I think it was a wonderful decision. It was such a tender sweet moment.
One of the highlight moments of Allyson and Michael’s wedding was stopping my John W. Bailey Park in Battle Creek. Michael played baseball in school so this was a bit of a sentimental trip. It was a lot of fun taking some casual shots of the wedding party, I love the playfulness behind it all.
